When did you know you wanted to be a musician?: I began singing and taught myself how to play piano at about eight years old. I was pretty shy at first, but after my first time recording in a studio at 15 I gained confidence. Hearing myself and my ideas recorded really made me work harder to become a better singer. Every harmony, every lyric—it all means a lot to me, and it’s all I want to do!

What’s Your Creative Process Like?: I usually write from personal experience, but what’s important to me is being bold about what I write. I try not to be afraid to be blunt and say things most wouldn’t say. I also write according to what I see in other people or what I see around me at the time. That always keeps things interesting and unique ;-)
